For extreme high-pressure and high-temperature environments, cast steel is the preferred choice for oil and gas applications. Special applications such as seawater or chemical liquid pipelines typically use thin sheet butterfly valves lined with copper alloy or polytetrafluoroethylene to enhance corrosion protection. The material selection of wafer type butterfly valves ultimately depends on specific operating conditions, fluid characteristics, and pressure requirements to ensure optimal performance and service life.
